So during break I saw the Stonehenge exhibition at British Museum

Ideas continue

Day 69 - Jera tells us about the final project timetable and proposal

Image
Jera described and presented about arriving at an idea and plan for me there's a challenge and I will ponder on what is workable, a pleasure (for me and an audience) and how I would wish to involve others. Easter  break will give the chance to arrive at a decision write the proposal in the assigned format

Day 68 More investigating of FMP in 3D sculpture

Image
At this session I worked further on a Stonehenge sculpture piece, a model that I felt was in the style of  Christo working - using models ahead of what could be a major project. Textures were used to represent stone . Ands colour was used to help consider the emotion this might engender  Next steps were made for the Shark/Hirst mould and I tried some experiments with  a mirror. Ahead of cleaning in the mould

Day 67 Rod talks about FMP planning

Image
Howe a Yinka Shonibare token could look?   Rod provided pointers and reflected on past Projects. Warning of the effect of late change and following a steer that went against ones' desires/idea

Day 66 -Core Writing, describing and pitching and Rod's book

Image
This weeks' core was about how words can be used and also Rod provided an insight into the enterprise behind his book - which seemed to be quite a mixed experience for him. Artists often struggle to 'sell' ideas or themselves - imposter syndrome can loom large. Practice and input from friends will help - manage your emotions as best you can.

Day 65 3D/Sculpture game play tokens

Image
In 3D i started to look at Ideas of material items that would be part of the game, Damian Hirst and Banksy - a studio to work in.. How would the Banksy player token look? A 3D version A studio space too... A wooden Studio piece  and a mould for a Shark (Damien )

Day 64 Moving ideas forward

Image
Vis |Com's 23rd March saw some thinking around Stonehenge 21st Century and Album Art works re-imagined starting with a sort of Stonehenge Filling in some blanks in Stonehenge. LP Covers I had thought about this for quite some time, the idea of a work of art that many millions of copies could be made and distributed quite 'democratically, how I had discovered Bridget Riley as an artist  (personally!)   and  even making early moves in that direction. How could I re-imagine an LP with a different cover from that we have lived with for many years - should a re-mastered album have a new cover perhaps? My Art Board game continued to develop too -how would the property spaces be, perhaps gallery/Studio/Exhibition space What would  a 'win' in Artopoly look like?  Ideas around Auctioning and the global market percolating through

Day 63 Core, ideas for future projects

Image
On the next core day we looked at idea development and artists with Ute and she spoke of her mixed career and the materials/approaches she uses  My thoughts around an art game were moving forward ... (other ideas being LP covers and Stonehenge) Thinking time

Day 62 3D/Sculpture - a Stonehenge idea

Image
In the Sculpture session this week I started to 'realise' an idea I had around Stonehenge - how could it be re-imagined, perhaps filling in some of the wholes and thinking how it could be in the 21st century, what materials would be the equivalent on the 'stone'  . What events would be celebrated and how would it develop an atmosphere for happy creativity? I started with some cardboard which is fast becoming my material to help me see a 3D vision. A start of a Stonehenge        Another material for a 'henge'

Day 61 Memories of the Pier (Vis Com visit)

Image
On the 16th of March we met up at Holborn Station for a visit organised by Rod - it was a mystery destination which turned out to have quite a story behind it and which again raised questions (for me) about what was 'Art' and what was Vis Com. Some dark ideas including divorce  And perhaps celebrity/fame? Rod did not tell us much about the exhibition apart  from 'keep it to yourselves.' Well here's some news Rod - the place is at  1a Princeton Street London WC1 - follow the link  -  A little research revealed that the person behind it was  Tim Hunkin   who has a 'job' somewhere between eccentric, designer and artist he had a TV show on channel 4 that you can still see some episodes from on Youtube (like this one  all about the VCR- ) In fact the expedition reminded me of a hero of mine  Professor Bruce Lacey and I thought again oh yes, that things can be 'fun' and also have a message. I started to think about a sort of a hybrid game that was
